Who we are

Sammi Kendall Chairperson & Founder I am very close to David and Anita - baby Star's Great-Grandparents. Star was the light of their life, and they struggle without her beautiful, warm presence. It is with their support that we have chosen to set up this worthy charity in honour of Baby Star. Starting from the bottom up. To aid at ground level - bonding, playing and nurturing. We know this isn't always easy, and can be challenging for some parents. We want to be that helping hand. I work with vulnerable adults that need a little extra care, and I enjoy what I do. I have raised two children - this has me crossing many bridges and jumping many hurdles, but they are now amazing adults. I have the most precious grandchildren - they light up my life and I truly feel for David and Anita. I want to do them and their angel proud.

Jess Outlaw Trustee & Founder Once I learned about little precious Star, she had my heart. She is my motivation to help grow and develop our charity for young families in Baby Star's memory and honour. My working background is supporting vulnerable children and adults, in education, in the home and in the community. I have worked for charities and hope to bring whatever I can to this exceptional worthy and meaningful cause. If we can better one parent-child relationship, then we will have done something special - but I hope we can be far-reaching and trusted to help those that need it most through various helpful avenues. I have my own family and do understand parenting isn't always easy, but it can be and is the most enjoyable journey. Little ones are precious.

Catherine Jones Trustee & Founder When I first learnt about Star, my heart broke and I immediately set about thinking of what we could do to honour this beautiful little girl. A memorial foundation seemed to be the perfect solution, so that changes could be made to prevent this happening again. Through the power of play, and building community and connections, we hope to reduce the risks of domestic abuse by giving families the opportunity to play and learn together. I currently work as a Business Support Co-Ordinator for a large soft drinks manufacturer and have experience working in both third sector and corporate environments. I am a busy Mum of two daughters and a labradoodle.

Lynsey Heeley Charity Governance Advisor and Designated Safeguarding Lead Having studied charity law and governance, along with having level 5 qualifications in safeguarding both vulnerable adults and children, I have been asked to sit as an advisor to the board of trustees as well as take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead for the charity. I have vast experience in working within a leading national charity, smaller charities and many years of working in roles that require knowledge and experience of safeguarding. I will assist the board of trustees with the day to day running of the charity, ensuring we are able to deliver the best possible service to those who really need the support, whilst ensuring the safeguarding of staff, volunteers and beneficiaries is at the forefront of all that we do. I was thrilled to be asked to get involved with the Baby Star-Dust Foundation, a cause that will reach right into the heart of communities to help and support those who need it the most. All while ensuring that Baby Star is remembered and stays at the forefront of our minds.
